Pre A1 Starters is the beginning of a discovery journey into the world of language learning for children.

This exam introduces children to everyday written and spoken English in an engaging and motivating way. Cambridge English Starters is the first of three Cambridge English Young Learners exams designed for children aged 7 to 12.

Pre A1 Starters is developed to motivate children and provide them with the confidence to apply their English skills. As their confidence grows, so does their motivation to learn English. The exam provides a strong foundation for language learning and includes the language skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Pre A1 Starters is the first step in acquiring practical and real-life English skills and helps children:

In Pre A1 Starters, no child can fail. All children receive a Cambridge English certificate that records their achievements.
